Local businessman Carlos Corral is running for El Paso city rep. Dist. 1 seat in the upcoming midterm election. District 1 represents parts of west, northwest and Upper Valley.
Corral is the owner of MindWarp Films, a video and film production company.
In 2011, MindWarp was awarded a contract to help raise awareness for domestic abuse in El Paso County with the Don't Let Youself campaign. Corral says that project sparked his interest in civic participation.
He say work with other city reps to utilize the budget to keep taxes from going up.
Corral is running against candidates incumbent Peter Svarzbein, Veronica Roni Frescas and Rick Bonart.
